The history of Pipa and its surrounding area is very old, harking back to the discovery of Brazil and the French and Dutch invasions of the northeastern coast.

Famous for its natural beauty, Pipa Beach attracts visitors worldwide. You can verify this yourself by taking a stroll down the main street come nightfall; beautiful people from around the world meet each other here and exchange contacts. Some even decide to stay indefinitely in Pipa!!!

During the day, the low tide forms innumerable natural pools with warm, blue waters. If you like catching waves you must pay a visit to Praia do Amor (Beach of Love), ideal for surf enthusiasts.

The nightlife is very eclectic, with a plethora of bars and restaurants that cater to even the most demanding of palates. You can even end your night in a jammin’ dance club. Every year in October, the municipal Secretary of Tourism joins forces with the local restaurants to host the Gastronomical Festival of Pipa.

Amongst the many excursions available, you can visit the Ecological Sanctuary, situated on a vast preserved tract of Atlantic forest, where you can discover the various trails and vantage points from which to view the sweeping vistas.
